Pittwater House Launches Book Week

To launch Children’s Book Week, on August 15, Pittwater House School hosted special interactive sessions with three of Australia’s leading children’s book authors and illustrator. 

Authors Belinda Murrell and Sandy Fussell, and illustrator Jules Faber visited Pittwater House School capturing the imagination of the Junior School.

International best seller Belinda Murrell has written over 21 books including the Sun Sword fantasy trilogy and the newly released Lulu Bell series.

Sandy Fussell is an award-winning Australian Author who has published the Samurai Kids series and other popular children’s books like Polar Boy. 

Jules Faber is a multi-talented cartoonist, caricature artist and illustrator who, together with Anh Do won the 2014 Book of the Year for the first WeirDo book at the Australian Book Industry Awards.

 The students enjoyed an hour long interactive presentation and a ‘meet the author/illustrator’. 

To highlight the importance of reading,  each year Pittwater House spends a week celebrating books and Australian authors and illustrators. Children’s Book Week is the longest running children's festival in Australia, celebrating its 71st birthday in 2016.
