Pittwater House has more green, open space than any other private school on the Northern Beaches.

Our campus offers impressive playgrounds and leisure spaces for all ages, from pre-school to Year 12. We have outstanding facilities onsite including; a pool, multipurpose playing field, numerous playgrounds, the Great Hall, outdoor courts, an indoor sports complex, the Music Cottage, art rooms, a creative arts studio and a health centre.

Sporting facilities

There’s no need to get on a bus to play sports. Our grounds have beautiful sporting facilities, including:

  • An eight lane, short-course, heated, outdoor pool built to FINA specifications

  • A full sized, central playing field for rugby, cricket, soccer, softball and all types of athletics

  • All weather tennis, basketball and netball courts

  • An indoor sports complex

  • A fully equipped gym and weights room

Pittwater House's 3.5 hectare campus provides an abundance of space for students to run, play and develop.

Our extensive grounds are big enough to facilitate dedicated playgrounds for each age group.

The Early Childhood Centre has its own secure play area.

Kindergarten – Year 2 (Infant School) students have their own specific playground, with age-appropriate play equipment.

Year 3 -6 (Primary) student also have their own playground which is suited to older Junior School students.

Junior School and Senior School students have separate access to the oval during their lunch break.

In addition to the oval, the Senior School students also have access to an amphitheatre, a covered courtyard and comfortable common rooms.

The Great Hall

The Great Hall has a tradition of hosting many music, drama and social functions and is the venue for school ceremonies and assemblies. It’s a professional-quality performance space and the Hall’s acoustic ceiling was designed by Louis Challis who was the sound engineer for the Sydney Opera House and Parliament House in Canberra. The Great Hall seats 600 and is equipped with two grand pianos and the historic organ. The organ is one of only five organs installed in Australia which was made by T.C Lewis of London.

The Hall’s facilities allow students to develop their artistic talents through music, choir, language, debate and drama as well as theatre set-design and construction.

Music and Arts facilities

Your musical or artistic child will love Pittwater House’s arts facilities.

We have specialised music and ensemble rooms plus tutorial rooms with the latest music composition software.

Our creative arts studio is a bespoke space for dance and movement. Situated alongside the music cottage, this multi-functional environment is perfect for various forms of dance, yoga and performance.

We offer two large art rooms to accommodate our senior students and a smaller scale art room for the Junior School. The senior art rooms cater to budding photographers, ceramicists and visual artists.

The next phase

Our school continues to grow and evolve with the ongoing support of the Parents Association, alumni and government funding.

Pittwater House is working on a Whole Of Campus master plan for future, large-scale redevelopments.

The master planning process will ensure appropriate, staged development of the campus.

While the master plan process is ongoing, the School will continue with smaller-scale, capital works including the final stages of the Science building, refurbishment of amenities and upgrade of the swimming pool precinct. Additionally, work will continue on the School oval and the refurbishment of classroom buildings.

“My two sports-oriented girls love the sporting facilities on campus - especially the pool! They also enjoy the feeling of space and the specialist facilities for the arts, dance and drama.”

Carissa, Pittwater House mum
