Pittwater House is entering a meaningful new chapter in its leadership story.

Following a national search, we are proud to announce the appointment of Dr Steven Middleton as the next Principal of Pittwater House, after 15 years of exceptional service and extraordinary growth by Dr Nancy Hillier, who will retire at the end of 2025.

Dr Middleton is currently Associate Principal at St Margaret’s Berwick Grammar School in Melbourne and brings with him almost 30 years of leadership experience across top independent schools, including Knox Grammar and The King’s School.

He is known for his deep understanding of educational excellence, strong relational leadership, and alignment with the "Diamond Model" approach that defines his current school and aligns with Pittwater House’s Twin Schooling approach.

Dr Middleton will officially commence his role in Term 1, 2026, but will be actively engaging with the school community through Terms 3 and 4, building relationships with staff, students and families.

We thank Dr Hillier for her exceptional leadership and welcome Dr Middleton with great anticipation. The future of Pittwater House is in strong, experienced hands — and we remain as committed as ever to inspiring excellence in every student, every day.
