World premiere of one-man opera

Pittwater House teacher, Jim Coyle, staged his world premiere of a one-man opera over the Spring break.

Mawson: Douglas Mawson Walking Alone is a piece of music theatre that tells the story of the explorer's heroic 33-day solo march in Antarctica following the death of his two sledging companions.

Mr Coyle set this epic tale to music in a one-man opera which was premiered at the Mosman Art Gallery in September.

This world premiere of a one-man opera was complemented by performances from Alumni Rebecca Williams (Class of 2013) and Stage Manager Chris Coyle (Class of 2011) and Cellist Ms Katy Cracknell.
