The Great Hall

The Great Hall has a tradition of hosting many music, drama and social functions and is the venue for school ceremonies and assemblies. It’s a professional-quality performance space and the Hall’s acoustic ceiling was designed by Louis Challis who was the sound engineer for the Sydney Opera House and Parliament House in Canberra. The Great Hall seats 600 and is equipped with two grand pianos and the historic organ. The organ is one of only five organs installed in Australia which was made by T.C Lewis of London.

The Hall’s facilities allow students to develop their artistic talents through music, choir, language, debate and drama as well as theatre set-design and construction.

The next phase

To sustain the needs of our students, Pittwater House has embarked on a Masterplan process which calls for the staged development of the campus. To read more about our Masterplan, click here.

Alongside the Masterplan process, the School undertake constant smaller-scale capital works, including the refurbishment of amenities, the School oval, classroom buildings and upgrades to the swimming pool precinct.

These capital works are possible as a result of the ongoing support of the Parents' Association, Alumni Association and government funding.

“My two sports-oriented girls love the sporting facilities on campus - especially the pool! They also enjoy the feeling of space and the specialist facilities for the arts, dance and drama.”
