Principal

There is a great spirit at Pittwater House of friendliness, mutual respect, manners and recognition of achievement, all reflected in the School motto 'semper diligens', Latin for 'always hardworking'.

We have a tradition of “family” at Pittwater House and this is encapsulated in our smaller teacher/pupil ratio and the involvement of all teachers in the pastoral care of the boys and girls.

I strongly promote our first two core values (honesty and integrity; consideration for others) because if each of us live by these, individual greatness can be achieved.

The 'twin school' environment sets Pittwater House apart from other schools. It is a family campus that nurtures pre-schoolers and early learners then guides secondary students to produce Form 12 Leavers of a high calibre. Our alumni are then ready to pursue tertiary studies or employment with success.

I invite you to explore our website and learn more about one of the finest schools in Sydney.

Principal's Profile

Richard Morgan, MA

As son of the Founder and an old Pittwater House boy I am privileged to have lived and enjoyed the deeply engrained values of the School - honesty and integrity; consideration for others; maximum use of talents; flexibility in thinking; tradition; promoting democracy.

The values and tradition of the School have held me in good stead throughout my academic and professional career. Having studied Archaeology, Geography and Museum Studies at the University of Sydney I entered into a career directing museums. During this time I participated in several long-term archaeological projects in Southern Jordan, which I later presented papers on at a number of international and European archaeological conferences.

I re-engaged with the School in 1978 as a volunteer Officer of Cadets and joined the Pittwater House Army Cadet Unit. In 1991 I took on the role as Executive Officer at the School and in 1999 was appointed Vice Principal of the School and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Following the Founder’s retirement in 2004 from the Principalship, I was appointed Principal and charged with the responsibility of guiding our boys and girls towards their future career.

My focus is my unfaltering belief in family and traditional values. I invite each and every pupil to be part of the School Family, through which we will provide strong moral, cultural and academic guidance.

I encourage students to actively engage with the wider community and rise to the many challenges of life.
