The Pittwater House Mothers Association began as an auxiliary of the Pittwater House Parents Association which had been established in 1962. Its original purpose was to cut sandwiches for the School canteen which took place on a large table in the Staff Common Room. Later the Mothers Auxiliary took the name Association but sensibly remained an unincorporated group connected to Pittwater House. It has always run the School Canteen in various guises and locations and this has been its main source of fund raising. The group has always met the requirements of the Department of Health with its canteen's standards. In later years paid assistants and supervisors were engaged sustained by the large turnover and surpluses.
Over the years the group has organised numerous social functions and introduced other services such as the Clothing Pool, Second Hand Textbooks and the English Book Scheme.
More and more ad hoc volunteers provided refreshments at major school functions day and evening. Large sums of money have been raised in more than 40 years for school equipment and facilities. The most elaborate donation was the Short Course Olympic Pool which cost about $800,000 and was opened in 1993 and the amenities block opened a few years after. There have been many hard working and distinguished Presidents and Committee members who have made their mark on the School. A significant occurrence was the demise of the Pittwater House Parents Association and the transfer of that group's funds to the Pittwater House Mothers Association who have continued its work ever since. In 2006 the Mothers Association resumed the title of Pittwater House Parents Association. Today the "Association" works closely with the Principal to co-ordinate its participation in functions, provision of services and the priorities for school equipment and facilities for the immediate use of the currently enrolled children and for the future. The Founder has always been Patron and continues in this appointment today.
In 2006 the group has resumed the title of Pittwater House Parents Association.
