Pittwater House students can choose Dance as an elective from Year 9 to Year 12. In these programs students learn and perform a range of dance styles and techniques that have influenced the development of dance, the processes of composition, safe dance practice and anatomy in relation to specific dance movements and dance film. Students study influential dance artists and pioneers, they learn about dance history and observe the works of others to further enhance the development of their own artistic dances. The secondary dance students showcase their classwork at the annual Dance Night.
Pittwater House also offers Dance as a co-curricular option for students in the Senior School to further develop their performance skills. Senior students in Years 7 to 12 have the opportunity to participate in Senior Eisteddfod Dance.
Students involved in these groups rehearse once a week at lunchtime or before school and perform at various occasions and competitions throughout the year. Auditions for these groups are usually held in Term 3.
